Round 1 RB Najee Harris Bama- All the talk was if Harris falls to Pitt from ownership to the staff, that the Steelers must get him to get back to a physical running style as last few years have been embarrassing year, they finished dead last in rushing in 2020, they couldn't move the chains with the run game get it at crucial times in short yardage situations (see game vs Washington where they entered 11-0 stopped 4 times at the goal line.) They could not no longer rely on James Conner who ever since replaced Bell has been often injured and doesn't seem to have the body to take the pounding of a full season. Harris can do it all he broke Derrick henry Bama rushing yards, TD record. Showed throughout his career he has elite speed vision and incredible talent all around as power runner home run runner and catching out of the backfield a true game changer. Watching his film is a mixture of Le'vion Bell Todd Gurley and maybe could have a ceiling as high as AP. Can pass block run in and out north and south and east-west and catch what more can you ask from a starting RB

Round 2 TE. Pat Friermuth PSU We all heard Jessie James has been trying to lobby the Steelers to sign him back here I would of preferred a OT or CB, Colbert said he felt this draft was very deep in his view on OL so I was hoping they would of traded down here to the top of round 3 and either selected Ifeatu Melifonwu or Ambry Thomas or taken Jayson Mayfield. I really liked Tommy Tremble from Notre Dame but he was not featured much as receiver but has a the athletic ability to be a solid TE. Pat Friermuth nicknamed Baby Gronk, is the best blocking TE in the draft, and best overall traits to be a long term starter, who can catch and block really well has drawn Comparisons to both Witten and former Steeler great Heath Miller, so with Ebron under contract for just another year Pat will have no problem starting in 2022 if Ebron is not back as receiving TE. I felt OL was a bigger need, a guy like Jason Mayfield or Brady Christianson
Round 3 Kendrick Green OC Illinois- was surprise pick as Quinn Mienerz blew up the SR Bowl showing despite playing for a tiny school he is nasty as can be and handled big school DL well at the Sr Bowl, the conscious thought was with him still on the board and the Steelers wanting to return to smash mouth football we would hear him at 87, however they selected Kendrick Green who played in the big 10 at Illinois, Green about the same height at as Quinn is more athletic and with larger arms size 32 1/4 just inches shorter than Pouncey who was 6"5 310 when he entered, Pouncey ran a 5.29 but he run played much faster while on the field, Green ran a 4.88. Green comes in with a reputation as a nasty OL and a leader whether he starts from day 1 or is worked into the starting lineup as camp progresses. The rational is they took Green over Mienerz is scheme reasons and they probably watched him more with many of their picks coming from big conferences. With adding a dual threat back who can run in and out they likely wanted a more agile C who has also played OG to pull for those outside runs. Grade B+ after reading more about him and how he was the fastest OL I am happy with the pick, Green also plays with a mean streak should start day 1. Green may bring shades of Dermonti Dawson super athlethic and just plain nasty.
Round 4 A Dan Moore JR OT Texas A & M I was hoping in round 2 they would of taken a OT who could start from day 1 at LT like Cosemi, Little or Radunz that just went 5-7 picks before we took a TE in round 2, the conscious thought as Colbert has repeatedly stated this was a very deep OL draft and Dan Moore brings the size nastiness to the team, he will need to bulk up to play in this division and with not trading up it looks like Tomlin Klemm are set with Chukes and Banner as the starting OT, Moore Jr will compete for both the LT and swing T job. Grade C+ fills the list in terms of LT mean streak but raw really felt in round 2 they should of moved up for Cosemi or Radunz.
Round 4B Buddy Johnson Texas A & M Aggies back to back, hard nosed ILB a faster version of Vince Williams both are similar as hard hitting thumpers however Johnson will offer more range side to side while Vince is more of just a down hill run blitzer. He ran a 4.57 and if he has a good camp should get consideration to be get a shot playing in the dime dropping back as Spilliane showed he has very adequate coverage skills is just a downhill thumper and with his 4.7 speed, he was exploited trying to cover Austin Hooper. Look to see Buddy push Spillane and Vince hard for the Mack ILB job. Could be another late round steal. Grade A-
Round 5 via trade for next years 4 DE Isiaihh Loudermilk Wisconsin- A Physical speciesism at 6"6 275 fits the 34 DL need looks the part as a run stiffing gap eater, some speculation as he might be tried as a edge rusher at times standing up or will be just eased in groomed behind cam a & tuitt DE in they liked him as he was solid for the Badgers vs the run and at the moment adding him and learning to play DE/DT in the 34 which he played he could really blossomed under Cam and Tuitt wing. I feel this an aging DL and now a 17 game season both starters will need more rest and this pick is to refresh with 2 all Pro who can mentor him. Some speculation that like at times the
Grade C+ I felt CB was a bigger need and with Shawn Wade was still on the board he would of given us better depth.
Round 6 Quincey Roche OLB Miami very productive pass rusher at the U should help replace Ola comes with solid size and pass rushing skills to stand on the edge and rush, brings a good balance of pass rush moves and since transferring from Temple has been solid vs the run, should allow Butler to be more creative Should come in and like the former 6th round pick that played the same role Chickello provide good depth as a pure rusher Grade A-
Round 7 A Tre Norwood Oklahoma a swiss army knife can play slot CB S indication already by coach is he will be moved to S has good size 6”0 192 ran a 4.57 which is why the thought of moving to S might suit him better, I expect they will try to develop him into the Mike Hilton role at times in the nickel, blitzing off the edge and at times playing deep. Grade B+ versatile and good size should be immediate contributor.
Round 7 B Pressley Harvin111 Georgia Tech here I was expecting another OL to add depth like Iowa’s Alaric Jackson a raw but good developmental OT but it was seen time over Jordan Berry was inconsistent that his punts had no back spin and he could rarely if ever got a punt to land inside the 10 or 5 to would just be booted in the endzone, so taking a P who won the Ray Guy award for the nations best P and who also offers some versatility as a QB who can throw the ball well is a bonus, only concern will be getting Harvin to Shedd about 10 LBs as he is listed at 263 he in high school did also play LB and TE, I can see him being a force after punting to get down to help tackle the returner. Grade A
I really liked 3 of the UDFA that were added Revis cousin Mark Gilbert from Duke 6”0 185 ran a 4.39 very good ball skills with a current thin CB group should push guys like Layne Desir. Shakur Brown of MSU another 6”0 190 CB ran a poor 4.8 causing him to fall from a round 5-7 pick to undrafted, is a definite zone CB, plays the ball well in the air and plays faster than timed, great ball instincts definite potential to develop into a press or zone CB. Lamonte Wade PSU, should push Dangerfield and others for a gunner position on ST kid hits and flies like a missile, as well in big games vs Ohio ST Iowa was also very good blitzing from the S spot looked at a few of his sacks like Troy flying in, has a knack to cause fumbles as well. These 3 I see making the team.
